This book is the story of Mark White who became one of Americas leading halter trainers. He shares his  experiences breeding, buying , training and showing horses, working with clients, horses and other trainers, his views, opinions and advice and the advice and opinion of other trainers and owners. This book also has a fictionalized account of Rakib , the Bedouins fierce competition with a neighboring clan over the treasured desert horse, which is used to drawn comparision to the competition in the Arabian horse industry. This story is illustrated with drawings from TE Lawrences (aka Lawrence of Arabia) book Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

The chapter "A gift to the World" covers history of the Arab, breeders and importers of signifigance and others who were instrumental in the procurment, breeding, protection and promotion of the breed. There is also an interesting chapter " Look to Lasma for Leadership" ,( keeping in mind this book was copyrighted in 1986) . "Arabians are Different" explains theories how the Arab evolved through environment and breeding to the horse we have today. There is also a chapter on  the business aspect of the horse business which is outdated but interesting.

 Informative and interesting read. Illustrated with color and black and white photos, some of which include Bask, Lamolin, La Duquesa, Queen Annes Lace, . Soft cover in very good condition, 194 pages.
